In 1954, Paul was born in Nakina, Ontario to Robert Burton Barry and Catherine Oaks Barry.  His mother passed at a young age and his father remarried Bessie Barry who raised the children in Bay du Vin, New Brunswick.  He was married to Donna Barry for 17 years.  They moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba where Paul began his mining career.  That same career took him back to Bay du Vin followed by Bancroft, Elliot Lake, and Sudbury.  Upon resigning from his mining career, Paul moved to Winnipeg where he drove bus for Winnipeg Transit for 17 years, retiring in 2018.  A significant accomplishment in Paul’s life was when he joined Alcoholics Anonymous.  His ‘birthday’ was March 12, 2011, and he had proudly been sober for over twelve years.

In his spare time, Paul enjoyed golfing, reading, and traveling.

Paul requested a simple Celebration of his Life.  You can find a photo tribute at

His ashes will be spread in both Manitoba (Hecla) and New Brunswick (Bay du Vin) – Dates and locations to be shared at a later date.
