Obituary of Debbie Hall

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Debbie Hall.

On September 5, 2023 at Health Sciences Center, surrounded by her husband and children, Debbie lost a courageous 2 year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

She is survived by her husband Fred, children Danielle, Tyler (Chelsea), Lisa, and grandchildren Amara, Mikaela, Mason, and Emma.

Debbie will be deeply missed and remembered for her love and dedication to her husband, children and grandchildren. She made many sacrifices to remain at home with her kids until they reached school age. When her kids went on to their teenage years, she retuned to the work force in a clerical role at St. Boniface hospital. She found her career highly rewarding, most notably her dedication to ACF Women’s Clinic where she made meaningful friendships and worked until her retirement.

Of all the things she accomplished, Debbie’s proudest achievement was becoming a grandmother. She loved and nurtured her grandchildren in every way imaginable. Even while still working herself, she selflessly did daycare pickups, babysat on a moments notice, and supported her family to achieve their educational and career goals in any way possible.

Debbie was passionate about lake life. Many summers were spent on family camping trips to Blue Lake, Brereton Lake. Later on, she and Fred finally settled on a location in Granite Hills, Lac Du Bonnet where they built their dream summer home that eventually turned into their primary residence. She enjoyed time spent on the lake or on her deck with neighbours and friends.

Thank you to Cancer Care Manitoba, Dr. Skrabek, Dr. Speziali, HSC GD6, and the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto for your compassion and kindness in every interaction we had.

Thank you to the neighbours and friends in Granite Hills for the endless support at home throughout this difficult journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at a later date.
