Obituary of David Charles Peirson

On October 2, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Dave passed away peacefully at age 72.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Doris (née Simard), his soulmate and best friend.  He is survived by two sisters, Louise and Marjorie.

Dave was an accountant. He retired at age 55 so we could travel the world, and that we did. He was an avid F1 fan, a music lover and connoisseur, a sports trivia fan, a trekkie, a computer geek, a photographer, etc.

It has been a very long walk with dementia. Dave was a brave man who did not dwell on his illness, but on what he could still do. His motto was ‘it is what it is’. And we changed and adapted as we went along. He was easy-going and content till he could not communicate anymore, and then music was his best friend. 

He was a quiet and peaceful person, still waters run deep. Dave, you will be forever on my mind and in my heart. Many thanks to Karen and Stephen who were always there to help us to make the best of things, and of course his pal and sister-in-law Élise. Special thanks to the Action Marguerite SNBU Team who cared for him with such respect and dignity.

Cremation has occurred and a private celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
