Obituary of Brent Ronald Saunders
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, son, uncle and life partner, Brent Ronald Saunders on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Brent was born on October 12, 1969 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Margaret and Newman (Butch) Saunders and spent his childhood growing up in a tight knit loving home in Elmwood with his parents and sister. As a child, Brent had many interests. He loved fishing, playing baseball, hockey and was always outside with the neighbourhood kids riding bikes. When Brent got into high school that’s when his mechanical skills kicked in. He loved cars. On weekends you could find Brent racing his beloved Chevy Nova at the Gimli racetrack. He carried his passion for mechanics into adulthood and you could always find him working on his cars, dirt bike, snowmobile and lawn tractor.
Some of Brent’s best times were spending them with family. His children were his life. He loved taking them camping, fishing, looking for frogs and just relaxing with his massive inferno bonfires. Brent was a man of many skills. He was a self-taught plumber, electrician, carpenter, mechanic and one heck of a chef. Brent was loving, kind, caring, forgiving and will be forever missed by us all.
Brent and Michelle met 8 1/2 years ago and he immediately welcomed her daughters into his family fold, treating them as his own. Brent loved to joke around, especially with his former coworkers at ABI whom he had great camaraderie with. He told many stories of the fun and friendship with his coworkers and missed them dearly went he left for other employment, so he can be closer to home.
Left to mourn Brent are his partner Michelle; sons Justin and Trent; daughters Faith, Miranda (Ben) and Juliana; parents Marge and Butch; sister Charlene (Tony) and nephews Matthew and Dylan. Brent will also be missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins and numerous members of Michelle’s family.
Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the medical teams at Bethesda Regional Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
