Obituary of John Andrew Petrakos

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Andrew Petrakos at the Riverview Health Centre Personal Care Home at the age of 80 years.

He is survived by his wife Janet Skinner; daughter Bronwyn; step-son Michael; son-in-law Graham; cousin Daphne; and grandsons Ethan and Jake.

John was predeceased by his father Andrew, and mother Margaret (Peggy).

John was a huge personality, with a generous heart and a zest for life. Dad was his own unique, hilarious character and people gravitated towards him. He was born in the Norwood area and ended up residing there in his latter years. John followed in his father Andy’s footsteps into the restaurant business and ended up in auto sales and management.

John loved being around family and friends. He would just show up sitting on doorsteps unannounced at 7:00am to be close to his loved ones. He spent quality time at The Marion with his pals and was an avid lover of animals.

John, you were one of a kind and words cannot express the immense void that be left here on earth. You are in our memories and hearts forever. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
