Obituary of Joey Arnold Komoski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joey Arnold Komoski, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

 

Joey was born on September 14, 1957, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and he peacefully departed this world on February 23, 2024, at the DeSalalaberry Health Centre.

 

He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

 

Joey is survived by his loving partner and soul mate, Patricia Castle, his son, Joey Komoski Jr, and wife Amanda, and his grandsons Lucas and Colton, and daughter Kristen Kowel. He was a cherished brother to Alex Komoski and his wife Margaret, Pat Gibbs and her husband Ralph, Linda Rodgers and her husband Cam, Wayne Komoski and his wife Denise, Joanne Komoski and her husband Rod, and Glen Komoski and his wife Sharon. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Joey was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Della Komoski, and his sister Denise Bellerose. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

 

Joey's greatest passion in life was fishing for Catfish on the Red River near Selkirk, where he spent countless hours with his best friend, Randy Simon. Their shared love for the river and the thrill of catching and releasing monster catfish created memories that will be treasured forever.

 

When he wasn't on the river, Joey was dedicated to his work. He began his career as a groundskeeper at Manitoba Housing at the young age of seventeen and retired as a Project Manager at the age of 55.  Throughout his career, Joey made many friends with his charm, honesty, and strong work ethic. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and humble nature, which left a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

 

Children adored Joey, and animals instinctively trusted him, a testament to his gentle and compassionate spirit. His presence brought joy and comfort to all who crossed his path.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 14th, 2024, at 11 am at The Sugar Shack, 434 Rue Sabourin, St. Pierre Jolys, Manitoba. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor Joey's life and share cherished memories. A lunch and refreshments will be provided as we celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of so many.

 

Joey Arnold Komoski will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by his presence.

 

Rest in peace, Joey, and may your spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who love you.
