Valerie was born in Winnipeg on January 24,1959. She graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate in 1977. Valerie and Michael were married on September 18, 1981. After high school she held a variety of different jobs over the years including bank teller, pharmacy assistant, store clerk and eventually operating her own business selling used books online, Val’s Books.

Valerie loved to travel and explore new places both near and far. California was a very special place for her. She enjoyed spending time at Bird’s Hill Provincial Park and visiting family in Winnipeg Beach. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed traveling across Manitoba to see the natural beauty within our own province of Manitoba.

She enjoyed the warm summer months the most and was very passionate about creating her own little oasis at home. Her yard was adorned with flowers and plants, fountains, wind chimes and an assortment of decorations and statues. She would set up a pool in her backyard for her children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Valerie loved her family and her home. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and was devoted to her family. Spending time with her family was very important to her, and she always showered her children and grandchildren with love.

She was very loved and will be missed greatly by those who knew her.

Cremation has taken place as per Val’s wishes and a private family gathering was held.
