My deepest condolences and much love to the Graveline family. Thank you for everything. Carter was such an amazing person. He quickly became a part of my own family once we met. Had the honour and privilege of meeting Carter when we both attended Argyle. It felt like he saw something in me that nobody else did. Always encouraging everybody around him to support one another and to have those hard conversations while you still can. To be honest and kind and open, but do and take no harm. When he worked at the garden and the cemetery he talked about it with such pride, he had such a connection to the spirits and I know they have welcomed him home. Carter really helped me connect to my own metis culture, took me to my first sweat and taught me how to sing and drum. When we graduated together in the front yard of my home we sang the wolf song in our ribbon skirts and cried together, full of so much pride for ourselves for overcoming every obstacle, and excitement for what was to come. So many laughs and hugs and hours long phone calls to stay connected and when life got in the way and we drifted apart you were still there with “i love you bro”s and “let’s make plans soon!!”. Random photos of you with friends having fun, you are so loved. We called each other plutonic soulmates. No matter how far away you were, I felt you. I still do, brother. I hope you felt my love, too. You live on in the thunder, the 4AM bird songs, every rainstorm and butterfly and mushroom. The memories and knowledge and love you selflessly gifted people that came your way. Just by being yourself touched so many spirits. I have missed you, my friend. Until we walk together again.
