Obituary of Donald Sinclair Goodwin

It is with heavy hearts we must say goodbye to Donald (Red) Sinclair Goodwin.

Don passed peacefully and quietly on December 9, 2024 which was not his usual approach.

Don had a lot of fight in him. He was an alley cat and lived all his 9 lives. When he would get himself in trouble, he would blame his red hair.

Over his 91 years, he was a jack of all trades. He loved forestry, when he was young, but couldn’t stay still so he moved across Canda working different jobs as he went.

He eventually settled in Winnipeg working in construction/drywalling.

In his travels, he made many friends, if you met him, you would never forget him.  Don was a character. He always did things his own way. He enjoyed tinkering and come up with ways to improve on something.

He loved his scooters.  He could be seen driving as fast as the scooter would go down the streets of Winnipeg and having ice cream at the Forks with the ”gang.”  He even went from his home in Lions Manor to West St Paul to visit his good friend Peter.

Don loved his dogs. He would tell stories of how smart Pal was or how he found Gizmo abandoned at the side of the road. He even took to the neighbour’s dogs and they took to him.

He will be missed by his sisters Margaret Ann and Esther, many nieces and nephews and all his friends, especially Nancy.
