Iris Senebald

Obituary of Iris Anne Senebald

It is with heavy hearts that the family must announce the passing of Iris Anne Senebald, on Friday, May 21, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Iris was predeceased by her parents George and Alice and left to mourn her passing are family members Dennis Sr, Paul, (Sandra), Dennis Jr, (Cheryl), Ryan, Shannon, (Shayne), Louise, (Nikos), Gerald, (Rose), Robert, (Linda) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many great friends. Iris spent over 40-years in the Hairdressing industry working at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg giving compassionate care to all the residents. Finally, at age 70 she decided to retire from the work she loved so much. Earlier in life on the weekends she enjoyed travelling to the different fairgrounds with her family, friends and racehorses. Later she enjoyed watching her sons and grandson play hockey and football but, not so much watching them race Motocross as she would be so stressed prior to the start of every race. Flying was never her thing as it took a couple weeks for her to get up the courage for even a short 2-hr flight. She always enjoyed going to Vancouver to visit her family and would force herself on the plane and would say her good-byes to everyone just in case as she was flying. Over the past couple of years, she loved going to the lake Autumnwood Resort in Gimli surrounded by so many incredible friends, family and her favorite deer that would visit her daily to eat from the bird feeder and drink from the bird bath. Sitting by the campfire in the mornings and in the evenings surrounded by her family and friends was one of her most cherished past times. Mom will be remembered by all for her incredible gentle giving heart always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone out. The family would like to thank all our family and friends that have helped us the past months providing meals, care and always remaining positive for us in a difficult time. The family would also like to thank the Staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital and at CancerCare Manitoba for all their work in helping her battle this terrible disease and a special thank you to Nurse Eva Hernandez for always providing us updates and compassionate care. In accordance with Iris’ wishes, a Cremation will take place and with current COVID restrictions no formal service will be held, a later celebration of life will be planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba in Iris’ memory. www.cancercare.mb.ca/Ways-To-Help/donate (donation link available in the menu bar of this tribute)
