Obituary of Brett Peter Walter Allen

It is with the heaviest hearts we announce the tragic passing of Brett Peter Walter Allen. He left us very unexpectedly on April 21st, 2022 at the age of 31. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Janina; their daughters, Amelia and Amaya; his mother Donna, and brother Darcy (Jess). Brett was predeceased by his father Mike, Baba Eleanor, Papa John, Grampa Pete. Brett has graciously left an impact on everybody. He left to miss his “Brett hugs” are his parents-in-law Jun and Teresa; sister-in-law Jian (Tyler); Grams Shelly, uncles and aunties Kelly (Ryder), Shannon (Bob), Sean (Jordanna), Danny (Gorete); Vivian, Ramon, Vayie and Valene; his other brothers Quinn, Riley, Matt, Fabio, Dan, Colin, Robert; dear friends Clarence and Twyla; Stepmom Kathy; and his many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Brett worked hard his whole life to leave a lifelong legacy. At 15 years old, Brett started B&D Allenscape for lawn care and snow removal that has grown into a successful property maintenance and swimming pool company. His company has also become his family. Special thank you to Matt, Tyler, Isaac, Chris, and John - you were with him when he needed you the most. Brett was an innovative businessman, but he was an empathetic, charismatic, thoughtful human first. He was always willing to help and jump in with both feet. Nobody was ever alone when he was around. Regardless of his busy schedule, he will carve time to be there for people he loved the most. He will help with the biggest jobs or use his charismatic chops to negotiate any deals. Brett attacked life with such vigor and tenacity. He lived a few lifetimes over in the three decades he was with us. He built our dream life, dream house, and to his last day, building our dream cabin. Family was the most important thing to him, to the point that he made the people around him his family. He did his best to see as much of the world as he could. He did his best to see the beauty out of everything. There is nobody in this world that loved life more than he did. His zest for life was/is unmatched. He effortlessly (and perhaps strategically) brought the best in people whether they liked it or not. The world is a much darker place without Brett. His lasting legacy will continue to live through us and especially his girls. Whether that’s as big as continuing his biggest dreams, giving bone-crushing hugs or having hoots and a rye and coke in your name. Brett, you have the biggest heart. You are forever and always with us. We love you with all our hearts. Toodles! Celebration of his life will be held at Varsity View Community Centre, 315 Laxdal Road on May 4, 2022, at 4:00 p.m.
