Having known Fred for over 60 years, my world has become a bit smaller without his being in it. Fred and Nola and their family were my family as well. Fred was a testament to pride in his job. career, and his family. Rest easy my dear friend and say hi to Jon for me. Rae

Uncle Fred you were kind, humorous, patient, generous and always had a very loving heart. You were a great person and wonderful uncle. I am so grateful to have had you as a mentor and thankful for all the life lessons you shared directly or through your example. Our loss is definitely heavens gain. My most sincere condolences to Aunty Nola, Debbie, Kim, Fred, Bill and all their families. I pray the future days will be filled with wonderful memories interspersed with tears of love. Your family is a true reflection all the love you shared Uncle Fred. Have a great journey home, say hello to all those who have gone before us.

Met Fred when I started with the WPS in 1984.....Fred along with Bob Patrick and Rick Penner were the instructors who taught me the ins and outs of the Communications Centre and guided me through the Call Taker and later Dispatch Training.
Fred was easy going and had a soft spoken approach to the training regime....always approachable and listened to any questions I had and shared many stories from his career in Policing.......
Fred went on to be the head of BPR but always took an interest in how I was doing in the Comm Centre.
Well respected classy guy with a great smile who in his way made the WPS a great place to work.
Rest Easy Fred

Spend many happy years working with Fred in the Communications Division of the Winnipeg Police Service and had the pleasure of meeting Fred's family and lovely wife Nora. Remember fondly being asked to Videotape a Family Wedding for him after my retirement. Learned so much from Fred over the years. He was 100% dedicated to his Job and held in high esteem by all his Staff and Friends. My condolences to all the family. Rest in Peace my good friend.

I worked with your dad when I was the Staff/Inspector
in charge of Bureau of Police Records.
We worked together on a daily basis, and I found him
to be such a nice man. We got along because he was
kind and gentle. We talked about his previous days
as Police Chief and why it was so necessary for him
to leave for his own protection and that of his family.
He was very good at his job, and was very well respected
by all.
My condolences to the whole family.
