Obituary of Kazimierz Bednarczyk
Tragically on April 17, 2023, at Roseisle, Manitoba, Kaz was involved in a motor vehicle accident. As he was in flight on the Stars Helicopter from the scene, he passed away. He was 66 years of age.
Kaz was born to Henryka (Chwist) and George Bednarczyk at Myskow, Poland. The family immigrated to Canada in 1965 and settled in Winnipeg’s North End. Kaz attended Holy Ghost School, Aberdeen School, St. John’s High and the University of Winnipeg, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts.
Kaz was a unique, courageous, intelligent, compassionate, creative force of nature. He embraced life, the natural world, the world of Art and Music, animals, and people. Had many interests and a vast intellect. He viewed the world through the lens of his camera and has left us a pictorial history of his adventures. Kaz had a huge online presence, leaving us hours of viewing pleasure.
Kaz was a gifted visual artist. He spent years creating art independently at Kaz Graphics. He also worked at the Osborne Village Inn and Harval Sportswear. He enjoyed and was frequently seen at the dirt tracks racing circuit as track photographer.
Wherever Kaz went he made connections and acquaintances easily. In January of 2020 Kaz moved to Roseisle, a quiet rural community, where he was very content. He made many friends in this community and was beginning to invite them into his home. In the past couple of months, the guest list was expanding and another setting at the table was welcomed for sharing a meal, stories, and a chess game. His sense of humour, his sense of justice, his calm gentle spirit, will be forever remembered.
Kaz will be missed greatly by his partner of 15 years Geraldine (Gerri) Walters; her three boys; daughter-in-law; two grandsons; and her extended family.
Kaz leaves to mourn his distant relatives in Canada and Poland.
Memorial service will be held Monday April 24, 2023 at Roseisle EM Church, 97 Main Street, Roseisle, Manitoba at 2:00 pm.
We would like to thank the neighbors who aided at the scene, EMS services, Star Air Ambulance, Health Science Centre staff and Doctors for the compassionate care he received.
Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pembina Valley Humane Society, 462 Jefferson St, Morden, Manitoba R6M 1Y4.
