I met Ed when we both lived at a boarding house at 406 Sherbrooke in1957. It was a time when we were dating girls. We both ended up getting married. Ed and Ruth were married on November 22, and up until last year I was able to telephone him on that date. Yes we saw their home at Rainy River, it was a labor of love.
In 1963 I was transferred to Calgary, but we still kept in touch. One summer they made a trip to Calgary to go camping with us in The Okanagan cherries grew in the campground where we camped. We "Pigged out" on the cherries.
After we retired we both spent winters in Mesa Arizona. They were only about three blocks from where we lived. Happy hours continued. I remember when Ruth was swept of her steps and had to be air lifted home.
I am truly sorry for your loss. He was a great personal friend.
